
Start a fire in the Bakeheart. When the fire is good and going, preheat the cast iron in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes.
In a large bowl, whisk all of the ingredients, except the butter and toppings, together until smooth.
Place the butter in the heated pan to melt, taking care not to let it burn. When the butter has melted, add the batter to the pan.
The oven temperature should be around 450–500 ˚F. Set the cast iron pan in the oven and cook for about 20 minutes or until the pancake is puffy and golden.
Remove the pan from the oven.
Top your Dutch baby with fresh fruit, syrup, jam, powdered sugar, or cinnamon sugar. Serve at once, while still piping hot.
