THE REGION

Discover Lanaudière

Between vast forests and pristine lakes, a wild territory to discover

Located in the Lanaudière region, 1 hour from Montreal, BESIDE's project allows the conservation of 900 acres of natural heritage. With its two clear lakes, its kilometers of trails, its peaks and its rock walls, it is a territory that invites exploration as much as contemplation.
Lanaudière is a region where nature takes center stage, with its winding rivers, majestic mountains and vest forests. Its rich natural and cultural heritage makes it a sought-after destination for those who cherish the outdoors and authenticity. Here, each season reshapes the landscape, offering an ever-evolving experience with each visit.

THE REGION

A region where rugged nature meets a gentle way of life.

With countless lakes, trails winding through dense forests and accessible mountains, Lanaudière is a place where adventure and tranquility go hand in hand. Local traditions, from food to craftsmanship, are deeply rooted in this preserved region.

In this exceptional environment, BESIDE Habitat chose to integrate rather than dominate. No cottages were built along the lakeshores, preserving their purity and offering a truly immersive experience. The minimalist architecture of the cottages follows the natural topography and vegetation, creating a harmonious dialogue between design and nature.

OUR APPROACH

A place where nature, architecture and culture collide.

BESIDE Habitat is much more than an architectural project, it’s an approach. To create a place in nature that will bring people together in a framework that encourages creativity, the exchange of ideas and the creation of new traditions.
From the very beginning, BESIDE Habitat brought together a diverse group of talents—architects, designers, artisans, biologists, and thinkers—to create a place that reconciles modern living with natural heritage. Here, nature isn’t just a backdrop—it’s a central player that informs every detail of the project. This sanctuary is designed to foster creativity, connection, and quiet contemplation.
