About Charlevoix
ACTIVITIES

Tucked away in the mountains of Charlevoix, far from the city and the rush of everyday life.

All activities
Hiking
Just a short drive from the retreat, Parc national des Grands-Jardins offers deep immersion in boreal wilderness. The Mont-du-Lac-des-Cygnes trail leads to wide-open views shaped by wind, lichen, and silence.

In the Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie, steep cliffs and winding trails reward every step with a new perspective. Some hikes take you up high, others invite you to slow down.
Winter sports
As snow settles in, the territory becomes even quieter. On snowshoes or nordic skis, explore the trails around Mont du Lac à l’Empêche or within Grands-Jardins, moving with the rhythm of fresh snow.
Stargazing
When night falls, the sky opens up. From the retreat or a nearby dark-sky spot, all you need is a blanket, a warm drink, and a little patience.
Foraging walks
From spring to fall, the forest becomes a pantry. Head out solo or with a local guide to discover wild berries, mushrooms, and edible plants. A mindful, hands-in-the-moss kind of walk — to reconnect with the land from the ground up.
Local culture
About 40 minutes away, Baie-Saint-Paul blends art, food, and local craft in a uniquely Charlevoix way. Wander galleries, sip something warm, pause at a cozy spot. Let the afternoon unfold.
Microbreweries & distelleries
In Clermont and Baie-Saint-Paul, breweries and distilleries craft small-batch stories of the land.
Golf
Charlevoix’s golf courses offer more than the game. They’re a chance to move slowly, breathe deeply, and take in the views between every swing.
Photography
Photography here isn’t about chasing the perfect shot. It’s about slowing down, noticing more, and seeing the landscape as it is — raw, shifting, alive.
Biking
The Route des Montagnes offers a winding ride through rolling hills, forests, and quiet valleys. Perfect for a scenic gravel ride. Bring a picnic, a camera, and let the road unfold.

For mountain bikers, the region is a hidden gem. Trails cut through dense forest, over rocky ridges, and across stunning viewpoints.
