A BRIEF HISTORY OF TAIGA

TAIGA is a Québécois company founded in 2014 by cousins Nicolas and Pascal Jolicoeur. For almost ten years, their team has been designing high-quality, durable paddleboards, uniquely made out of wood. As a tribute to the St Laurent, as well as Québec’s many lakes and rivers, TAIGA has made it their mission to make paddleboarding more accessible for everyone.

Next to the calm waters of Lake McGuire, on a summer Saturday morning, a handful of early risers gathered on the shore to learn the basics of paddleboarding. As the sun rose, Lucie Martel, SUP instructor and TAIGA ambassador, taught them a variety of techniques. Above all, though, she taught them to appreciate the special moments that are only possible to experience on the water, whether floating upright or lying on your back.
