Exploring Bon Enfant's sonic world is like stepping into an ever-evolving musical landscape. With eyes closed, all sense of direction fades, allowing the mind to drift into a place without defined boundaries. "Our sound is kind, sometimes psychedelic, sometimes disco, sometimes even too loud for the ears," explains Daphné, the band's voice. This sonic journey the Montreal-based group takes us on is the result of their constant quest for novelty, all while remaining true to their essence.
With each album, Bon Enfant’s sound has grown and transformed. Their latest release embraces a more intimate, grounded approach. "We've focused on creating something more direct and raw, with a punk edge and a vibe that captures the energy of the city at night," says Daphné. The band has explored new sonic textures: crunchier guitars, more prominent piano, and a blend of drum and bass that breathes a different, more grounded energy—calmer but still striking.
Their creative process also relies on a shared chemistry. "If a riff doesn’t move me, we set it aside," Daphné notes. In this constant search for renewal, what remains anchored in their music is her voice, acting as a thread that weaves together influences and sonic experiments.
